A typical course in general science provides a preview of the most significant sciences such as chemistry, biology, physics, and so on.  More advanced general science courses deal with the interrelationships between the sciences. And there is a third kind of general science course: one that covers topics that are about science, and not a study of any particular science subject--history of science and philosophy of science, for example..
